great extent. Small initiatives like e-tendering have been introduced to
curb corruption. But the scale needs to be magnified. If the attendance
of school students is linked to Biometric system, then those availing
grants in the name of 80 students where only 40 are present can
then be brought to book. Thus corruption will itself end. Corruption
exists from the grass roots to the Top level. If we fit CCTV cameras
inside rail coaches then the corruption inside railways can be stopped.
So there are a few things like a policy driven state, ample use of
technology and strict action on the corrupt people which I believe
will bring about a change in the prevailing conditions.

Whether we accept or not, the image of both Houses of the
Parliament has been tarnished. There is a big debate that only people
with criminal backgrounds reach the Parliament. They may be five
or seven or 10, but such an image does exist. It is our collective
responsibility to clear both these Houses of this bad name. One
good solution would be that we all collectively request the Supreme
Court of India to expedite proceedings through judicial mechanism
for those members against whom an FIR has been lodged. Within a
year, justice should be done. Those guilty may go to jail and those
innocent may come out clear in front of the world. Why so many
cases are registered and the innocent punished due to political reasons?
Let us pledge to tell the country and the world that at least in 2015,
there will not be a single tainted member in both the Houses be it
Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha. We can at least make a new beginning
in the world. If we clean the Lok Sabha in this manner once, then
the political parties will be forced to rethink before giving out tickets.
